Remembering a tree from the family home
After a pine tree came down at their family home, the family kept some of its branches. They were attached to that tree and wanted something they could hold on to. Their request began with the wood and its meaning, without a finished design in mind.
The finished work includes a framed tree made from branch slices, small shaped keychains, and lidded keepsake containers. In the frame, the round slices form the crown of a tree above a wooden trunk and an engraved dedication. The smaller pieces offer other ways to keep part of the tree close.
